It is now possible to update the image for an existing photo without losing the existing data, including comments. Simply send a multipart/form-data PUT request to the Photo endpoint with the new image data under a part named file.

What happens in the case of moderation?  Say someone uploads a nice picture and then replaces it with dodgy stuff!  Will it need to be remoderated?

Currently the image is not placed back in the queue to be moderated again. I've filed an issue with the product team. Thanks!
