Ning has a great member role feature, generally used to control permissions of members and create various levels of moderators.

I want to be able to access a member's role, and cannot figure out how (is it a custom field in OpenSocial?).  How would I display a list of each member with a given role, when it is a role that was defined by an administrator?

For example, if our network has created a role "Forum Moderator," how can I get the list of users where user_role="Forum Moderator"?

Thanks.

Hi Matt, we don't expose member roles via the API or OpenSocial at the moment. I've filed a request for that feature.

Has there been any progress on this? I am  finding there are many limitations to the API that for our purposes make it unusable.
