Is there any way to use the internal search engine of Ning?

This feature would allow us to implement an "alert" function, much like Google Alerts, where a member can choose certain keywords she/he wants to monitor and we could periodically search the Network and return to her/him new elements that refer those keywords.

Any idea about the possibility to implement something like this?

If your network is public you could maybe use google alerts. Otherwise, yes it would be useful to be able to poll the search, but I don't think you can yet.
