Fullscreen for an iframe-based app

I need an iframe'd app to toggle to fullscreen - to blow out beyond the borders of the central content column and fit the browser window. Has anyone succeeded in getting this to work, even for videos?

I'm trying to use this code in the key locations, but I'm pretty sure it needs to be within the iframe src to communicate with the map.
